Welcome to the Bloom Blog

April 14, 2009As I sit down to write the first blog post for Bloom, I’m thinking about the other great local blogs I’ve come across with the shared goal of inspiring women and providing information about natural childbirth. Birth in Spokane and Family Birth Services are both worth checking out if you haven’t done so already.
In future posts here on Bloom you will find commentary on local, national and international news and stories about childbirth and parenting. I will also interview local midwives, doulas, health care professionals and parents to provide first-hand perspectives about all aspects of natural childbirth here in the Spokane area. Having experienced two natural births myself—and knowing how dramatically different those births can be—I am excited to begin a collection of local birth stories that will inspire and educate all of us.
