DOULAS
If a Doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it.

Violet Stephens, doulaI am a Professional Labor Assistant who has been involved in fertility, intrapartum, and postpartum support and educational services since 2002.

I have attended a variety of births in home, birth center, and hospital settings, with the majority of clientele being VBAC intent. My experience has included high-risk complication support (breech, gestational diabetes, multiples, etc.) and special postpartum / breastfeeding support for high needs and premature babies.

As a mother, I have personally given birth to 6 children which has included a wide variety of experiences spanning over 90 hours of labor, from home to hospital, resulting in 1 cesarean and 5 VBACs (including 1 footling breech). I have also logged over 85 months of breastfeeding. These experiences have brought me up close and personal to a multitude of complications, interventions, alternatives, and solutions that have greatly influenced my perspective and ability to advocate for my client.
