The practice of Yoga, linked with the breath will bring awareness to your body, mind and spirit, and help you connect with your growing baby. The postures help to strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles, improve circulation, aid in digestion, exercise the spine and increase overall comfort. They will also alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica. Inside you is an innate wisdom that intuitively understands the natural process of birth. We help you reconnect with this wisdom, guiding you through a class specifically designed for the ever-evolving journey through pregnancy, to the birth of your child.
A safe, open community with your instructor and other pregnant women, allows you to freely discuss any issues, from discomforts and concerns, to the wonderful new changes your body and baby are experiencing. No prior yoga experience necessary.
Mondays 2-3:30 pm, Starting November 7th
These gentle poses will help strengthen, energize and tone the whole body, focusing on the abdominal muscles and pelvic area, as well as the shoulders, neck, and back which may be feeling the strains of new Motherhood. We will also address and discuss any other issues that may come up when adjusting to the needs of your baby. The atmosphere and motion will increase your sense of well being. This is a special chance to bond with your baby through Yoga, or get out on your own for awhile, whichever you choose.
Come to class 4 to 6 weeks after a normal delivery, and 6 to 8 weeks after a Caesarean.

As a mother of two small children, I have personal experience with the amazing process of pregnancy and birth. My Pre-Natal Yoga class places special emphasis on the prevention and alleviation of complications and discomforts that can occur through pregnancy and birth. We spend time each class discussing whatever questions or concerns we may have. We explore many ways of preparing for birth. We create a safe and open atmosphere in which we can all discuss our chosen paths and feelings about pregnancy and birth.
