Congratulations, You’re Pregnant!
Choosing a health care provider to care for you and your baby during your pregnancy is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make. In recent years midwives have become another alternative for women with low-risk, uncomplicated pregnancies.

A certified nurse-midwife is a health care professional who has an undergraduate degree in nursing along with an advanced practice master’s degree in midwifery from a university accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. In addition, a certified nurse-midwife must pass a national midwifery examination as well as meet ongoing requirements for continuing education. Although some certified nurse-midwives attend home deliveries, the nurse-midwives at Northwest OB-GYN only deliver babies at Sacred Heart Medical Center Birth Place.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Northwest Midwives is a full scope nurse-midwifery service providing prenatal, birth, postpartum, well woman gyn care and family planning. The midwives work in collaboration with the physicians at Northwest OB-GYN, one of the most respected women’s health care practices in Spokane, WA for over 27 years. At Northwest Midwives we are committed to supporting women throughout their pregnancy, honoring their birthing choices, and welcoming all babies with love. We strongly believe that all women have the right to a safe and positive birth experience.
