I have been in my own practice going on 5 years now, and have been honored to attend over 250 births between my training and career as a midwife. I am happily married and have 5 children of my own at home, from ages 3-15. I am a firm believer that, when supported through education and attention, virtually every woman can birth safely in the comforts of her own home. I tend to use herbs and homeopathics instead of medications, but am willing and able to intervene medically when needed. I am very experienced in and support waterbirth, VBACs, and first-time moms giving birth at home!
All prenatal and postpartum visits are done in the mothers environment (no hauling babies out in bad weather!). Consultations are always free, and I have an extensive lending library of books and videos to educate families on any subject from pregnancy to parenting. I am a huge supporter of La Leche League, the Bradley Method of Natural childbirth, massage and cranial-sacral therapy and chiropractic care.
Women have more power and choice than they realize when it comes to pregnancy and birth. My job as a midwife is to educate, support, and protect those choices that are made by the families I serve while ensuring their safety and quality of care.
